Voluntary vehicle surrender
When a lender authorizes a voluntary surrender, LRS can review the vehicle and location, coordinate the practical key handoff, document visible condition, report the recovery status, and follow approved storage, transport, or destination instructions.
Designed for: Banks, credit unions, automotive finance companies, loan servicers, and other authorized secured lenders.

A lender-directed return
The lender authorizes the recovery and the person in possession agrees to an appropriate vehicle-return plan. The surrender remains a lender-directed collateral assignment; it does not determine an account balance, waive a deficiency, change the financing obligation, or replace the lender’s instructions.
A well-planned surrender separates the account discussion from the operational handoff. LRS focuses on the accepted vehicle, location, access, keys, condition, recovery status, and approved destination.

Post-handoff accountability
After an accepted voluntary surrender, unit-level documentation can include exterior photographs, visible-condition notes, key status, personal-property handling, recovery time, storage location, transport status, and the lender-authorized destination.
The public website is only for establishing business contact. Debtor names, VINs, account numbers, plates, precise locations, access instructions, and completed authorizations belong in the approved secure assignment channel.
What the service includes
Service boundary: Authorization, location, access, collateral class, condition, equipment fit, timing, destination, and current operating capacity must be reviewed before acceptance. No public statement guarantees acceptance or completion time.
How it works
The lender establishes the approved assignment path and transmits protected collateral information through the secure channel.
LRS reviews the collateral class, general area, access, keys, operating condition, equipment fit, and proposed destination.
An appropriate time, place, contact method, and key-transfer plan are confirmed for the accepted assignment.
Visible condition, photographs, keys, status, and the completed handoff are documented for the lender file.
The accepted vehicle is stored, transported, or delivered according to the lender-approved plan and current capacity.
Lender-authorized surrender workflow
Authorization, vehicle review, scheduling, documentation, and destination instructions remain distinct steps. The graphic below summarizes how an accepted voluntary surrender moves from lender approval to a documented recovery outcome.

Passenger and business-use vehicles
A conventional passenger car, pickup, cargo van, or other business-use vehicle can have different dimensions, operating condition, contents, keys, access, equipment, storage, transport, and receiving requirements.
Commercially configured trucks, trailers, powersports, recreational units, and construction equipment require separate capability review. A cooperative handoff does not automatically make every collateral type acceptable.

Assignment readiness
Confirm the authorized lender, active assignment, approved communication contacts, and any borrower-facing instructions.
Provide the year, make, model, VIN through the secure channel, general location, keys, access, condition, and known mobility issues.
Define photographs, reporting expectations, personal-property procedures, storage, transport, auction, or other approved destination instructions.
